SnowGem Weekly Update

Welcome to the SnowGem Project June 26th 2020 Community Update.

Latest News
As a follow up from last weeks update, The SnowGem Foundation has been working closely with our MasterCard partner to finalise our contracts, this has taken a lot management time and kudos to our @DaX for his persistant and attentitive attitude on this important step for SnowGem and our community.

Once everything is finalised, we will explain everything more clearly in one of our blogs and/or videos in case of any confusion, which is being prepared.

BitFrost

We are currently working on BitFrost v0.0.7 which will introduce the first release of SnowSwap (1 pairing to start with), BitFrost v0.0.7 will be a major release with many UI refinements, background code upgrades including database management and security improvements. This will likely take a little longer than our previous versions to release due the increased complexity, we would also like to extensively test internally before release.

Further details on v0.0.6 can be found via our BitFrost Changelog here.

Careful followers can easily check out our #dev-diary on Discord for daily progress information.

We would still like to encourage users to report any bugs found via the #BitFrost channel on Discord so we are able to fix them in the next version.

Important Announcement for SnowGem Electrum and Copay wallet users (Reminder)

After careful consideration, we have decided to phase out support for SnowGem Electrum and Copay wallets due to download statistics and time needed to maintain these platforms. We believe that our time will be better spent on developing new and exciting products that are in demand, we therefore will only maintain Electrum and Copay until the 1st August 2020, this should give users enough time to move their coins.

We do however have the perfect replacement, SnowGem ModernWallet and BitFrost which are our own fully supported platforms.

In case you are wondering why we are implementing this, we maintained Electrum and Copay for hardware wallet support but we are planning to introduce this into BitFrost which would make the former a waste of valuable resources and we want our community to have access to some of the best tech and support in the industry.
